MORE THAN 50 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS

AN ARTISANAL COMPANY WITH INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

Claude Couthouis took over a duck slaughterhouse in 1974. Success was forthcoming, and the company grew: Claude Couthouis acquired Péridy in 2001, then Edgar Caiveau in 2010. Following the acquisition by the LDC group in 2018, the company’s brand became Maison Couthouis, highlighting its commitment to quality and its history as a master poultry farmer.

Free Range Duck from Challans

THE MARAIS BRETON VENDÉEN, A FAMOUS DUCK-REARING REGION

Maison Couthouis is based in Soullans, between Challans and the Vendée coast. This marshland area has a long duck-rearing history and we naturally work with local duck farmers whenever we can. In fact, 70% of our partner farms are less than two hours away from our production unit.
Our French, European and Asian clients particularly appreciate this strong regional approach.
